Property Tax Bill Information
Payments Made Through January 31, 2025
- Tax payments can be made in a variety of ways:
- Payments can be made at the Town Hall during open office hours. Town Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 8 am – 4 pm, Friday 8 am – 3 pm. The Town Office will be closed for the holidays on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st. If making a cash payment over $1,000, the Town would prefer that the payment be made in person at Bank Five Nine (see below).
- Payments can be dropped off in the Town Hall drop box (located outside the main entrance at W314N7624 Hwy. 83, North Lake, WI 53064)
- Payments can be mailed to the Town Hall (PO Box 128, North Lake, WI 53064).
- Tax payments can be made via debit/credit card or e-check. Go to the Waukesha County Tax Website and enter property address, select tax bill details, and click “pay online” at the bottom of screen. Payments can also be made using the Town of Merton payment processing service by clicking on this link. Charges apply and are the same if you pay in person at the Town Hall with a credit/debit card or online.
- Cash and check payments can be made at the Bank Five Nine (800 Cardinal Lane, Hartland). Checks should be made payable to the Town of Merton.
- To assist in processing your payment, please include your phone number and the tax key number(s) on all checks and endorse escrow checks made out to both the Town and yourself.
- Mailed payments will be receipted 12/31/24 if postmarked by that date; mailed payments will be receipted 1/31/24 if postmarked by that date.
- Payments deposited in the drop box on or before 12/31/24 will be receipted as paid in December 2023, payments deposited in the drop box on or before 1/31/25, will be receipted as being paid in January 2025.
- For payments sent via mail or left in the drop box, receipts will only be sent if a self-addressed envelope is provided.
- Please issue a separate check for dog license and/or a compost pass.
Payments Made After January 31, 2025
- After January 31, 2025, checks should be made payable to Waukesha County Treasurer and mailed to 515 W. Moreland Blvd. Room 148, Waukesha, WI 53188.
